“Sport has the power to change lives, the ability to drive gender equality by teaching women and girls teamwork, self-reliance, resilience, and confidence. Women in sport defy gender stereotypes and social norms, make inspiring role models, and show men and women as equals.” - UN Women

More than 50 years after Title IX opened doors for women in all aspects of education, including athletics, massive gaps between men and women's sports remain. Women-identifying athletes receive fewer endorsements, garner less media coverage, and earn less than their male counterparts.

Our newest program, Girl Krush, is dedicated to showing love to our talented University of Illinois women athletes. Join the Women's Resources Center cheering section at special events throughout the year to help close the gender gap in sports AND experience these dynamic and captivating teams as they compete to be the best in the BIG 10.

Girl Krush is open to all eligible persons regardless of gender, race, color or national origin. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request, please contact womenscenter@illinois.edu.
